How do you design a 1200 square foot showroom around an online jewelry website? What if the prototype must be designed while being built? What if you only have 6 months to do this? The team worked collaboratively with the Blue Nile store operations, real estate and construction team to design a prototype that reinterpreted the brand to create a seamless experience from website to store. The clicks-to-bricks rollout was built in 20+ stores across the country in two years.

As the Team Leader for the Starbucks Team in two architectural firms I have twice the built team from scratch to account for millions of dollars of revenue per year. I have over 10+ years of experience with Starbucks as a client and across 6 regions in the US and all of Canada. Projects include major renovations, conversions, new stores, and ground leases. I have led the teams to complete over 2,300 projects. I ensure Starbucks brand and operations requirements are met with a high level of design creativity and technical expertise. I work closely with the operations, construction, design and real estate teams within each Starbucks region.

As the Architect of Record we worked with the French interior designer, Italian lighting designer and coordinated with Nordstrom’s internal design and construction team. The new Dior Couture store is a 1000 square foot jewel box within the Nordstrom retail space. It’s intricate details and complex millwork design allow the muted white store background to highlight the luxury clothing.

The architectural team works collaboratively with the internal design, construction and real estate team at Panda Express. The site surveys, site plans, redesign of existing end cap locations and extensive jurisdictional approvals encompass the primary phases of the design work. Extensive coordination with engineering consultants during the construction documentation and construction administration phases rounds out the design and construction process.

Oil Changers spent decades purchasing existing oil change retailers. It was finally time to build new. The company rebranded and a new building prototype was designed to be built on roadways while not blending into the retail landscape. The building is a simple box with an oversized boomerang attachment that works with the signage to act as a building and a billboard.

Equinox Lincoln Common is a high finish, luxury fitness club located in the heart of Lincoln Square. Performing the Architect of Record role while working with interior designer Meyer Davis of New York and the internal Equinox design and construction team. The 33,000 square foot fitness club is a three story space on Lincoln Avenue located in a two tower residential building development in Lincoln Park.

Hotel Dörr is a 40 room boutique hotel and retail space located in Sister Bay, Wisconsin. It is the first new hotel built in Door County in 20 years. With a view of the bay, the hotel design is meant to evoke a modern coastal lodge dubbed “Wis-coastal” by the design team.

As Crate & Barrel expanded its presence to other countries, they encountered issues communicating and maintaining branded design elements and construction standards with non-English speaking construction crews. We worked with Crate & Barrel to design a set of graphic posters to be posted at construction sites throughout the world. Inspired by emojis, the graphic design and architecture interdisciplinary team worked together to create simple communication tools. Aiming to communicate to the trades how to execute the complex and precise work to meet construction, safety, and brand standards.
